Children at The Learning Project have homework on a graduated schedule that reflects our disinterest in engaging in homework for the sake of homework, but recognizes the usefulness of reinforcement work at home. Homework assignments are deliberately intended to be straightforward and doable by children on their own. They are not intended to require an enormous number of brain cells at the end of a long day when children are tired, parents harried, and teachers unavailable to re-teach or assist. We save the creative and challenging work for school time.

Kindergartners do not have homework. The range elsewhere is from 15-20 minutes four times a week for first graders to 65 minutes five times a week for sixth graders.
