
Justin Hajj

Justin Hajj became the Michael W. McCord Head of School in 2020, the second person to serve in this role. Prior to his appointment, Justin served as The Learning Project’s Assistant Head of School, Upper Division Head, Assistant Director of Academics, Director of Advancement, and Sixth Grade Head Teacher over the course of an eight-year period. Justin also taught at the Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles from 2010-2012, and Canyon Charter Elementary from 2005-2010.

A graduate of Boston College, Justin holds a BA in English and Film Studies, and also earned an elementary teaching credential through California State University Los Angeles and a Master’s in Learning and Instruction from Northeastern University. In 2019, Justin completed the NAIS Aspiring Heads Fellowship. He has been a featured presenter at conferences for the California Association on Independent Schools and the National Association of Independent Schools and was published in Independent School Magazine in 2024. He is a certified Restorative Justice practitioner and trainer, and has served in a variety of roles in support of our fellow independent schools, including chairing AISNE teams for accreditation and proudly serving on the Board of Trustees for the Commonwealth School in Back Bay.

Justin lives in Boston with his wife, Rachel, and their daughter, Sadie, ‘23. In addition to enjoying all that The LP has to offer, the Hajjs also love to explore their city, create and listen to music, and spend hours playing their latest board game discovery.
